This reads more like an opinion piece than anything else.. In one paragraph the authour states that it's impossible to violate the laws of conservation bu in another they state that our knowledge of science isn't complete. They also seem to gloss over the fact that every time a group has tested the Em/Cannae Drivem they have observed the expected thrust. Whether or not the device is producing thrust isn't the only question. If multiple groups of scientists cannot create an experiment that can disprove the Drive, then there are two possible options:

(A) Either the Drive works (YAY!) and we have to figure out why/how is actually produces thrust.

(B) Our understanding of science is flawed as we cannot disprove the Drive easily.

The whole point of this is that we learn more about science. If we can get a functional Impulse Drive out of the deal, then great. If not, then at least we can figure out why this drive produces such odd results and build from it. The mere fact that we cannot easily disprove it means that there is something to learn. In fact, we already know for certain that we have gaps in our understanding of physics since the drive currently exists. If we knew more, we'd know why is supposedly works. If we knew more, we'd know why it produces these results regardless of it's validity.

It's just ego. No one who thinks they have an understanding of science wants to admit someone else figured out something that fundamentally changes important aspects of that.
