You could rig up a vibration sensor inside the wall and it'd detect vibration for a long way in either direction. All you need is that moment of detection and the Border Patrol Predator drones can already be directed to the location. Any disabling of the detector after the fact is useless.

It’s not as if the cartels are breaching the fence one time. They are attempting to make a route that can be used multiple times. Clip a couple resistors around a sensor, remove sensor, game over sensor.

The success of the drones at the border is not great, and they are really expensive per capture, aka $32,000. And it’s not like a person is getting out of the drone with handcuffs.

How are they getting to the sensor without tripping the sensor?

Pretty tricky.

Do these same tactics work at Area 51? They have vibration sensors in the ground there, too.
