Hey I am Gen X too, and good luck to you and your family. I really wouldn't know what to do in your situation, other than -to me- the holy grail of home schooling, but which is outlawed in Europe.

But my respect if you still try to fight that rotten system. Just know that we need good people like you around the White world and that energy, put to use differently might sort a better effect.

Here is the deal with homeschool.

Your kid will become dependant upon you for answers in some cases.

In public school they can learn to deal with many personality types, and get them ready for the world. Today for instance.....mine had a substitute teacher.

Well being who he is and learning how to always get the last word. The teacher was some OBEAST that naturally he has to pick at.... something was said and another kid said that he called her fat. Well he didn't, but he did mention her weight.

She asked him why he would be so rude, and he said...

It's best not to sugar coat words around people like you, as you will eat that too.

I gotta hand it to him. That is pretty good, but of course he is the child and therefore he is wrong to them. So they called the wife she kinda laughed and went over it all with him and he apologized.

He knows right and wrong, but he also knows how to use that sharp tounge.

ha nice story. True what you say about the downside of home schooling (plus in my case my wife would have to do most). But to be honest, I don't think my school prepared me for other people with other opinions. That's just a normal thing that you naturally adjust to.
