I started out in the trades, got several degrees, did the cube farm thing, and am now back in the trades making more money than ever. (I own my own business.) Bonus: I no longer have to care about back-stabbing, incompetent, retards and their insatiable lust for cock-sucking and climbing the corporate ladder. And if a customer pisses me off I simply tell them to get somebody else next time.

Office politics are the worst part for me. I just want to do my work, screw the meetings, memos and emails.
Chosing your customers carefully is often the difference between success and not. I don't tell unwanted customers no, just price obscenely enough to make it worth the pain. Just kissed a customer goodbye today after 20 years. my tolerance for bullshit is waning.
