Translation: "Our doomed business model is failing, and it's all your fault!". Games "journalism" is dead; they hammered in the last nail when they started attacking gamers to curry favor with SJWs for some inexplicable reason. I get my gaming content from Steam curators, Voat and youtube/twitch, where I can get the information I need with a minimum of bias.

Oh come on. It's an issue all sites face, no matter the quality. Find a website you like, and whitelist them, because otherwise they won't be able to stay in business.

First of all, not all sites face this, some have found actually viable business models. The ubiquity of ad blockers should be a reminder to do so for those who haven't. Secondly, we're discussing online game journalism, so my comment was naturally directed at them and their "plight".

I do whitelist quality sites that I enjoy and visit frequently, provided they can be trusted not to serve large quantities of obnoxious ads and/or ads from networks that are known to embed malware.

I have a solid... Ten sites I whitelist. I'd be a lot higher of a bunch of the sites I liked didn't use sleazy ads.
