history buff here. it did end, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, but because of the surrender conditions, it basically fueled ww2 to start. Most people don't realize the wars were only like 20 years apart. many historians do argue that they are basically both part of the same overall conflict, I don't disagree.
