I feel like I'm not getting the full story here. What was the tip given to the officer to prompt the investigation?

"The allegations were that the family was residing in a tent, mother had given birth in the tent, there is no running water or septic, none of the children were enrolled in school and the father threatened a neighbor with a weapon (asked child to hand him the gun)."

That will do it. I would have made a complaint too. Living in a tent is not "living off the grid". It's not providing a proper home. My husband and I are debating living off the grid - this isn't it, this is bad.

It bothers me that I can't just read an unbiased article.

On Monday, May 11, Breckinridge County court heard testimony from Joe Naugler's eldest son, Alex Brow, who stated he was physically and sexually abused by his father.

I know, right?

The article itself seems very biased, there must be better detailed reasoning from CPS and the police on why they took their children.
