I didn't understand from reading the article, but was it one of her planes, or was her company S7 group (an airline operator) just making the announcement? If it wasn't an S7 owned/leased plane, who did it belong to and why isn't the article telling us?

Whatever happened, I would be willing to bet the pilot and the other 2 passengers were just in the wrong plane, with the wrong person, at the wrong time.

ETA she co-owned the S7 group with her husband (any bets on which one of them actually built the company? lol) and so now he is the lone owner. What are the chances he has a young mistress waiting in the wings.

Yea kinda what I was thinking, very plausible. The plane is a weird detail. Her husbands worth just increased by 600mil.
