no, not at all. i like game of thrones but i wouldnt say its due to culture shift, its just certain niche realms are being normified, and normies are average so to me, its not so much culture shift as it is access to far away things. i know that doesnt really make sense.. its like why would a fat faggot girl find eragorns character interesting? or eowyn? the values instilled in those two characters mean nothing to the gluttonous fat faggot normie girl so instead, tranny/family fucking is inserted to appeal to them.

There are decades between Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones so the culture shifts are going to be Stark. You're skipping much of the extreme macho style of the 70s and 80s, the anti-corporate sentiments of the 90s, the alien and foreign enemies of the 00s, and now we're shifting more to enemies that look more like us and hide among us. The villains may look like evil white males, but what if I told you that was because calling them shapeshifters would be too obvious?

Game of Thrones encompasses a story where the lines between good and evil are heavily blurred. People aren't sure who can be trusted because there's a knife hiding in every shadow and not all endings are good endings. It better resembles the world we live in, and thus it resonates with the audiences of today. The propaganda of decades ago is wearing off and people are seeing the world for the ugly reality that it is.

Sure, plenty of media is pushing forward unsavory views, but such media isn't nearly as popular as you might think. Voat loves to get outraged over this shit, but it's all just as forgettable as the junk from the 80s that everyone has fogotten ever existed. The works today that will be classics still hold the message that matters and will carry culture forward.

Thanks for the thought out reply. I know I was being simplistic about it but you make a lot of really good points
