I've got a friend who works at a call center that isn't owned by Google but handles outsourced tech support for Google's Nest line of products. He said that there are certain "features" in the product that no one in the company is allowed to provide support for or interact with. Anything involving those "features" requires authorization from a Google executive. Hmm...

He was offered free Nest products for his home, but he turned them down.
