This is a travesty of justice and we all know it. I figured they might have got manslaughter but 1st degree murder is complete dishonesty. I really hope some decent lawyer will appeal on his behalf.

First degree murder. Definition: In most states, first-degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated, meaning that it was committed after planning or "lying in wait" for the victim.

So not only did the state "prove" that this guy willfully decided "I'm going to kill that bitch 30 feet away from me, that I can't even see", but he also planned it out. He stayed up the night before, writing feverish twitter posts about wanting to kill that particular woman with a heart attack, somehow?

At the very most, this is 100% accident. I can see absolutely zero argument otherwise. That man didn't want to kill anyone- he didn't want to be surrounded and pulled out of his car by a frenzied mob armed with clubs.

The state claimed as much in its opening statement and the court-appointed public defender confirmed it in his opening statement. He had a bad lawyer. The "facts" provided to the judge and jury are sufficient to convict.

He's being persecuted for his edgy tweets. That is the entire prosecution case against him.

After reading up about her final argument I am wondering if it was all set up to guarantee it gets thrown out due to mistrial? Cannot claim to know anything really but I am certain if he gets a new lawyer they could claim that his public DA left him out to hang and was incompetent. Maybe she knew she was severely outgunned in every way and opened up the channels for future defense.

Playing devil's advocate but still this poor guy who honestly probably wanted to pick up chicks with his "cool" car has been sacrificed in the name of political correctness. I bet he wishes he stayed home or called a cab.

They get brought up on charges that make headlines but then the charges get quietly dropped when no one is looking. The rioters during the inauguration, the bike lock guy - all got away scot fucking free.

That was what I was expecting in the worst possible case. What he received is completely absurd and should serve as a stark reminder how skewed the system is for not only the rich or famous but for the "correct" fleeting mindset.

That, and for 1st degree murder, premeditated intent to kill has to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Worst. Defense. EVER!

His lawyer was a prosecutor who failed to get reelected, apparently. She's also friends with the prosecutor. It was a setup.

They gave him first degree murder over a meme posted to his Facebook about ramming protestors.

Pointing out that the car probably didn't touch her is the worst possible defense IMO. Even if the car didn't touch her, there's a very solid argument that his actions contributed to her death. Indirect causes of death have been charged as crimes for a long time in many locations: for instance, the getaway driver for a robbery is often charged with murder too even if he didn't directly pull the trigger or enter the store.

The best defense is that his actions were justified. He was fleeing an unhinged mob that was battering his car, including a man who allegedly brandished a gun multiple times. You have no legal or moral duty to let yourself get torn to shreds.

We all see the travesty of justice here, I'm not sure what can be done about it, and I think the Jews want some "Nazis" to take the bait and chimp out about this.

If they don't get it, they'll manufacture it. I wouldn't be surprised to see some fake swastika's painted in Charlottesville soon that the media will use to do a whole new round of media coverage.

he plowed his vehicle into a crowd protesting a white nationalist rally, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer,

What does this mean?!? I still don't even get the facts or the mechanism of how Heyer even died. And NOBODY IS REPORTING ON IT. Just basic facts. Did Fields run Heyer's body over? Was she struck by his front fender? Did she fall? Did a secondary car hit her? Was she trampled in the commotion? This is never talked about in the media; was it even brought up at trial?

After being surrounded by a group of violent communists, armed with weapons and beating on his vehicle, he drove through them going 20 mph and then drove to safety before potentially being shot at by the multiple angry people with firearms.

Manslaughter? Vehicular homicide? Criminal negligence? Nope.

1st degree murder. Sick criminal mastermind shoved cheeseburgers down her gullet and gave her high fructose corn syrup through an IV and made her smoke, at gunpoint. Then all he had to do was shout “boo!” or drive a car near her.

Premeditated all the way.

Sure looked to me like he was "lying in wait", to ambush that woman he couldn't possibly see from 30 feet away, behind dozens and dozens of people. But he knew she was there, HE COULD FEEL IT. And he knew- Bitch needs to die. "Maybe if I drive forward at 20mph, the sheer terror of my driving will kill the bitch... yes..... perfect."

Also, he must've been stalking her for a while, to know that she'd be there at this particular protest on that day, at that time. Must've been looking at her social media or something, and then he saw her post that she'd be there- "That's my chance. BITCH, YOU'RE DEAD!! I'MA GETCHU!!" She never saw it coming.

A certified monster, this man.

A trial like this could have run 6 figures. Doubt he has that laying around or he wouldn't have been appointed a public defender
