That seems crystal clear -- Bernie is honest, and will NOT TAKE money from billionaires and super-pacs, and Hillary (and her Republican friends) will do anything for money, even though she has tens of millions of dollars by herself. She's evil, pure and simple, and Bernie is truly honest. I believe firmly that Bernie will actually win, and I'm very excited to watch it come true.

Interesting. According to this though: http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-07-15/-billionaires-for-bernie-group-is-formed-with-neither-billionaires-nor-bernie

The guy who made the super pac never neven met Bernie and a quick google search shows no relation between him and Bernie.

That's about one of his supporters making a super pac...

Edit: I swear did you lemmings even read the fucking article?

I just can't do it anymore. I can never again get hard for a candidate or "career politician"... ever. After what happened in 2008, til this day I feel like a fool for ever believing a word of what was promised and what was presented. And it's happening all over again with a slightly different/newer generation. I guess this is why the election is held every 4 years... gives people time to un-remember.

Haha that is clearly a BS superpac, and the whole article was written as an attack piece on Sanders.

"will have to change the name because unaffiliated PACs can’t bear the name of the candidate, the goal of “Billionaires for Bernie” is exactly as it sounds."

So a random dude made a super pac, which anyone can do, gave it an illegal name, and then The Post did an interview with the whack job without any comment from Bernies camp. If Bernie wanted to set up supers PACs he would use a much better name, Billionires for Bernie, are you kidding me? That is counter to his whole platform. Look at the names of Jeb Bushes PACs; The Right to Rise, The American Bridge. Bernie is a seasoned politician he's not dumb enough to have a PAC named something counter to his entire platform. Use some critical thinking please.

I hope not... I'm getting tired of these politicians who are gaining ground just because they're promising people free stuff and more money. It's got to come from somewhere, folks, and it's most likely going to be me (the forgotten middle class). He's promising to help the middle class, sure, but how? I still haven't gotten a definite answer. Whatever the case, my taxes are going to shoot up and that makes me sad.

American trade workers are one of the biggest compositions of the middle class and they are the ones that support him the most because he wants to make it so that American companies hire American labor instead of having international labor markets where the American worker competes with the Vietnam worker. He has been doing this by rejecting a long list of international trade agreements over his time in the Senate, including most recently TPP.

He wants to close tax loopholes to generate additional revenue to finance a lot of his programs. These are tax loopholes you probably don't know about because you don't pay a tax attorney a 6 figure salary to digest the tax code for you. He also wants to raise taxes on large businesses. You should spend sometime and look at his actual policy because if you truly are middle class Bernie is going to do a much better job protecting your interest than either Bush or Hillary.

Not totally honest, but way more honest than most politicians.

He lies about being pro-gun. He voted for the AWB.

You can be pro gun and pro AWB. I'd just like the ban to apply to police as well, which would have the wonderful side effect of eliminating SWAT teams.

I don't even know who Bernie is. Idk why people care about presidential elections. Princeton released a study showing that the average United States Citizen has little to no influence on politics either way. They also concluded that the only influence on laws that are passed is dictated by the elite and by rich corporations, not average US citizens. The USA was bought and sold a very long time ago, guys. They probably laugh harder than I do when they see people arguing with each other about who should be elected president (and that's saying quite a lot). It really doesn't matter either way.

They still have to be voted in, but hey it's cool I own a company and worked in politics so if you want to weight my vote by choosing not to participate that's fine by me.

Trump says he donates to everyone to get things done. He's probably telling the truth, to get to his level you have to play the system.

It seems more likely he just wants a conservative to him, and if Hilary wins the Democratic vote then either way a conservative will win since Hilary leans more right than anything.

I'm for sanders...but, The Clinton Foundation is a humanitarian/charitable group? I feel like this is something that is being spun up to get on the main news networks... Kind of like when Jeb was quoted out of context... Stop trying to make this into a conspiracy, I don't like Trump either but in my opinion this is a non story.

Clinton is a conservative democrat and when the state is blue you play with the person who is the closest to red.

It's shit like this that makes me think that maybe the guy who thinks Donald Trump is running a troll campaign to fuck with the Republicans and help Hillary out might actually have a legitimate point.

[–] erowidtrance 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago  (edited ago)

If trump was a troll he wouldn't advocate for universal health care and other policies typically not aligned with republicans. In a recent speech he said point blank to a conservative crowd the country needs to care for everyone healthwise. He wouldn't say stuff that could alienate conservatives if we wanted to damage the party from the inside, he'd aim to be as successful as possible with them whilst alienating everyone else.

It makes more sense that he's just a guy who doesn't really fit entirely into a political box and will speak his mind irregardless of the consequences. I find it refreshing.

I also think the ridiculous number of non-serious republican candidates is a blatant attempt to draw attention away from any candidate that might run on a platform to reform the government (cough Rand Paul cough).

While I love Bernie, I'd like to point out that The Clinton Foundation is neither Hillary Clinton nor her campaign.

It's a charitable organization that, last I checked, was a 501.c.3, which means they don't support or oppose any candidates. Trump donating to it just means he supports (or wants to be viewed as supporting) the Clinton Foundation's goals.

Isn't it a slush fund for the Clintons?

My bets are that it's not. The Clintons know that they are high profile people, so it would be pretty stupid to use the organization that way.

There's a difference to campaign contributions and contributions to the Clinton Global Initiative. CGI is a philanthropic organization.

Boy someone is rolling put the hit peices on Trump here. Trump donates to everyone. Pretty standard practice for buisnessmen who dont want to be hijacked by politicians who will exort money from them. Trump is the guy getting shaken down by the tired hooker for exortion money. Hillary is the tired hooker.

Bernie Sanders hasnt taken money from billionaires. Neither has Trump. Both can probably continue to be the most honest candidates for president we will see in our lifetimes.

Hopefully it will be Bernie Sanders vs Donald Trump in the general election. It would be so much better than Bush vs Clinton who are just two lobbist dependent whores serving their secret masters.

I'll go for that for sure :-) Bernie would have a easier time of it in the general election.
