The issue isn't the crazies. In fact, most people don't realize what the true issue is.
There have been and always will be crazed leftists that want to do harm in the name of whatever bullshit they support. The problem is two-fold -- government and, more specifically, the judicial system.
What the left WANTS you to believe is that cops aren't doing their jobs, particularly in democrat controlled cities where crime is rampant. They would love for you to rant and rave about useless cops, those cops never do anything! Blah blah blah.
But take a close look at the system. All a cop can do is arrest someone -- that's the first step. From there, leftist DA's decline to press charges or bring charges the prosecution can't prove or even reduce them. They have carte blanche in this regard. Cops can make a thousand arrests, only to have the DA drop a thousand cases. That's what's happening in blue areas.
If a case comes up that DA's can't ignore (because of public outrage, see Kate Steinle), you then have leftist activist judges in place to fuck the system up.
Finally, you've got a huge governmental fist in your asshole in the form of regulations, rules that tell you what you can and can't do when in reality, virtually every law passed since the Constitution and Bill of Rights has been entirely unnecessary. But you know what else they do? They create a large bureaucracy that acts as a welfare system for the left. Political positions of power were intended to be low-paying, part-time gigs. Now they're full-time, pay huge salaries (courtesy of you!) and provide benefits you'd be hardpressed to find in the private sector.
I don't know if there's a solution to any of this. It may be too late. The only thing left is to start over after the whole system collapses.
