No, you're denying the person that you're punishing for crimes the privilege of being in person with their "loved ones". If they really cared about their "loved ones", maybe they shouldn't have committed a crime and gotten themselves locked up?

Voat is becoming more and more like reddit. You faggots are crying because filthy criminals are actually being punished a little now. These assholes have access to incredible amenities in prison; cutting them off from the outside world is kind of the point of imprisoning someone. Fuck 'em. Wanna spend time with your family? Don't be a goddamned criminal. It's that simple.

Yes goy, obey the law!

The definition of "criminal' has changed dramatically in the last century. Laws are getting ridiculous. Look at CA and the plastic straws ffs.

I'm not saying there aren't ridiculous, absurd laws out there. I'm saying that if you stay out of trouble, you double your choices. Trying to fight the system from the outside will only get you locked up- you can't fight for change from a jail cell.

If it's that concerning to you, don't break the dumb law to prove a point- lobby for a change to the legislation. Are we savages, or are we the most adaptive breed of animal on earth? Haven't Whites as a whole proven many times that we can work within a broken, retarded system without acting like niggers? Yes, the straw thing is retarded- but so long as you aren't throwing plastic straws around, you have the option to attempt to legally challenge such a law in court if you use the proper channels.

Also, on the subject of Cali- they made their damned bed. They're the ones who elected the insane leftists who then go on to institute insane policies like "let homeless people live wherever they want" or "hand out 6 million needles per year to drug addicts" or "no plastic straws allowed". They've dug themselves quite a hole, it's up to them to dig themselves out.

Not cutting them off, but keeping them out of society for everyone else's safety is the point.

Not everyone is an animal. Just the violent criminals. It's not for the criminals it's for the people who care about them. They didn't do anything wrong they don't need to be punished for the sins of their loved ones.

The people who care about convicts are part of the society which we are keeping criminals out of. Just because a prisoner knows someone on the outside doesn't mean they should get to have godamned hangouts with them.

Prison is supposed to be a punishment, a place where rights and privileges most people take for granted are suspended from you. The idea is to make you dearly miss those rights, and thus you modify your behavior to avoid losing said rights ever again. The easier you make prison on prisoners, the less likely they are going to decide "This place is the absolute worse, I'll never do anything that could lead to me ending up here ever again!"

Instead they'll have fond memories of their girlfriend having a nice conjugal visit, despite the fact that the prisoner killed someone else's girlfriend while drunk driving. Drunk drivers aren't considered "violent criminals", but they endanger society anyway- and they need to learn a fucking lesson. You can't tell me that babying prisoners (the way we have been for many decades now) is working as far as reforming them.

I stand by my point- if you want to spend time in person with your loved ones, don't break the fucking law and then nobody will interfere with your family time! A novel concept, apparently.
