FAMS is its own law enforcement agency, but you're right that it's a division of the TSA, so I suppose you're technically correct. Generally for armed officers you see at checkpoints, the TSA coordinates with local PD or federal LEO.

Federal air marshalls are under the TSA and armed aircrew are deputized law enforcement operating under the TSA so technically...
