On one hand, I think it's beneath white people to be childishly and stupidly cruel like that.

On the other, they have been memeing it for so long, it's like they want it.

It makes no sense that we allow foreign citizens into positions of power, even if they also happen to be citizens of our country. It's such a clear conflict of interest.

Forget Schumer. The crazier part is that 41 Republican senators did the same thing. Even though they know the bill won't pass, for some reason they need to signal that support for Israel is more important than the First Amendment itself. If you want to know who runs this country, this is a good starting place.

This article is using yournewswire as a source, which is known fake news. We should stick to the actual facts not sensational fake claims. Yes there was a law introduced I forget what happened to it but I doubt the penalties where what this article said.

This is linked to in yournewswire. https://www.aclu.org/letter/aclu-letter-senate-opposing-israel-anti-boycott-act

According to the article: Anyone guilty of violating the new prohibitions will face a minimum civil penalty of $250,000 and a maximum criminal penalty of $1 million and 20 years in prison under the new law.

According to ACLU: Violations would be subject to a minimum civil penalty of $250,000 and a maximum criminal penalty of $1 million and 20 years in prison.

Old news sure, but not fake. Looking at some more info it's still getting co-sponsors "Rep. Murphy, Stephanie N. [D-FL-7] 05/11/2018" https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1697/cosponsors?q=%7B%22party%22%3A%22Democratic%22%7D

And this: "Latest Action: House - 06/28/2018 Committee Agreed to Seek Consideration Under Suspension of the Rules."

So still in the works. I see nothing fake about this.

It takes a while to read through H.R.1697 (this bullshit bill) and see how it modifies laws already on the books, but none of this is fake. It's all there. The penalties are what the article says they are:

From H.R.1697:

“(j) Violations Of Section 8(a).—Whoever knowingly violates or conspires to or attempts to violate any provision of section 8(a) or any regulation, order, or license issued thereunder shall be fined in accordance with section 206 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1705).”.

From 50 U.S.C. 1705:

§1705. Penalties

(a) Unlawful acts

It shall be unlawful for a person to violate, attempt to violate, conspire to violate, or cause a violation of any license, order, regulation, or prohibition issued under this chapter.

(b) Civil penalty

A civil penalty may be imposed on any person who commits an unlawful act described in subsection (a) in an amount not to exceed the greater of-

(1) $250,000; or

(2) an amount that is twice the amount of the transaction that is the basis of the violation with respect to which the penalty is imposed.

(c) Criminal penalty

A person who willfully commits, willfully attempts to commit, or willfully conspires to commit, or aids or abets in the commission of, an unlawful act described in subsection (a) shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $1,000,000, or if a natural person, may be imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both.

Does Section 8(a) reference aiding or abetting the moslem terror groups in their boycott of Israel? Until we stop the money flow to Israel, any successful moslem efforts against them are only going to cost US more money.

[–] Gunfreak 1 points 13 points (+14|-1) ago

From the article "According to the ACLU, the Cardin legislation would “bar U.S. persons from supporting boycotts..."

From Kike-ipedia "The First Amendment (1791) prohibits Congress from obstructing the exercise of certain individual freedoms: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and right to petition. Its Free Exercise Clause guarantees a person's right to hold whatever religious beliefs he or she wants, and to freely exercise that belief"

[–] totes_magotes 5 points 3 points (+8|-5) ago

freedom of assembly

Jesus fuck. Read the first amendment. It seriously is not that long and you can't even get one of our basic fundamental rights correct:

or the right of the people peaceably to assemble

PEACEABLY

Not just "assemble," you dumb fuck. Peaceably. That means you can't assemble and riot but you can assemble in as many numbers as you want and share a cup of coffee while someone reads poetry over a microphone. You can't surround a building and prevent people from going in and out but you can line up near it and scream all you want.

Seriously, it's not fucking rocket surgery.

Holy shit you fucking sperg, where the fuck did he call for rioting? Nowhere. And what does this have to do with his comment? You just picked this *completely irrelevant thing to have an autistic hit about.

Preventing a US Citizen from supporting a Boycott is unconstitutional.

Don't think the bill strongly supports the ACLU position because it's really targeted at international organizations. It might have that impact in some way which they would win the case if true but it doesn't sound like it.

To amend the Export Administration Act of 1979 to include in the prohibitions on boycotts against allies of the United States boycotts fostered by international governmental organizations against Israel and to direct the Export-Import Bank of the United States to oppose boycotts against Israel, and for other purposes.

[–] Kippering 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

No it is not, you have the right to refuse or boycott whatever group or government you do not wish to support, it is your freedom of choice. They should boycott the entire fucking middle east, sunni extremsits, shiite radical, jewish, all of them the whole fucking lot of them...the places is a money hole burning a huge hole in America's pocket, American soldiers sent to a bullshit war in Iraq and dying for Saudi and Israel and the holyland itself and Arabia is cursed!! and constantly adding to the debt, sure the US gets some barrels of oil but the cost is not worth it for that cursed black blood, its like the blood of satan itself, and the weapons the military contractors profit from half of these weapons end up in the hands of al qaeda or Daesh Isis or whatever lastest radical ragheaded mohammedan group is around that year....middle east is a cluster fuck and will be for centuries to come. I know Tennessee and a bunch of gimpy whipped states and Merkel's Germany had this great idea about jailing its people for criticism of islamist invasions or criticism of the israeli government or banning boycotts of Israel but the logic is fucked and flawed, that very same logic says there should be no sanctions, embargo or boycott on other nations like North Korea or Iran or whatever asshole country you happen to disagree with, you have the freedom to dislike any groups, nations, government polices don't let some somebag sell out dual citizen traitor tell you otherwise.

[–] speedisavirus 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Yup. 90% of that is fake. The only thing that isn't is the quote from the ACLU from what I can say and the ACLU position is questionable as if it's supported by the bill. The bill is to shield Israel from boycotts via the US export/import bank mostly by international organizations. Whether there is room to abuse that or what it looks like in the whole picture of the act it's amending is another story. It's not a 1A violation unless it's impacting those in America. Which I'm not sure it does without reading the other bill.
