On Wednesday of this week we received notification via email that Stripe will no longer be able to have us as a customer. We asked for a phone call by they declined and said there is no possibility of appeal. I know something similar happened to Voat in the past. They gave us only 5 days notice before restricting our account.
We will make sure anyone who is owed money is paid, and we are working on getting a new payments provider. We've already contacted some and started their approval processes.
I've decided to include the reason Stripe gave us below. Copied directly from one of their email to us.
"Please know, Richard, that it would be our absolute preference to continue working with your business, and this decision is in no way a reflection of our feelings towards your business, from either a moral or legal standpoint. Rather, this is a restriction imposed upon us directly from our financial partners, who use have an archaic and frankly antiquated view of non-traditional businesses. As such, our hands are truly tied here, I hope that you can appreciate that."
