It used to be that reporters had to hunt down people to get a statement from them. Now, people just throw statements out like candy and reporters stand by like kids at a parade.

I think you mean, "they just stand there and cherry-pick the ones they want people to hear."

I meant what I wrote. But an intelligent reader would have seen the implication.

I hate that they don't just quote the quote but they post the text of it and then quote it. so it reads like this:

Today Terd said:

I hate some twitter stuff

on twitter

I hate Twitter stuff - Terd

And people really got angry, except nobody is angry, I'm making it up, but people will now be angry because I told them that others are angry.

Sites like thegatewaypundit seem to exist solely as an outlet for conservative twitter. Literally every single "news story" on that site is, "Look what somebody twitted," and some bland, predictable commentary that amounts to, "OMG they really said that what will this mean stay tuned." Often, it's followed up with, "Look what someone twitted back!"

It's fucking garbage.

To be fair to TGP, I've literally seen just about every one of the big "Legacy Media" channels/sites literally covering stories in that exact same way, and often not even ending their articles with any quotes or personal responses, just more goddamn tweets from random fucking nobodies. I could do a better job than what they're doing, and I would be able to do it without upsetting anyone but the Identity-Politics-obsessed people at the far ends of the spectrums.

Here's how I would do it:

1, Hear about a story from an official or unofficial source.
1a, If I heard it from an unofficial source, verify it with an official source who I can directly quote.
1b, If unofficial-sourced story can't be verified, then file it away under "needs research for potential future story".

2, If possible, verify it from other official sources and/or check the other end of the story from a different kind of official source (ex. If a rumor says that "Trump spoke on the phone to Shinzo Abe last night about North Korea", do what I can to verify that claim from official sources for both Trump and Abe)

3, When story has been verified, write up a story that summarizes all the details as well as I can, and go over it for any spelling or grammar errors while triple-checking that I didn't get any of the important info wrong.

4, Publish it with full comments enabled (only removing blatant spam), and respond to criticism/critique of the articles from time-to-time, occasionally editing them if a commentor notices something that I glanced over or didn't know at the time of the article.

5, When I have the time, do investigative work on the unverified story claims, throwing out the ones proven false by repeat evidence, and searching through all possible legal sources on the other ones until they're proven true, false, or just misleading.

Sure, my number of articles per day/week/month would be way down compared to other writers, but my average quality would be miles above theirs, my reader engagement would be massive (since I, you know, actually listen to my readers and incorporate their feedback rather than censoring them), and I would have enough public support that we could afford the funding to have me spending long periods of time investigating the real stories that the public should know about (rather than "OMG, did you see {insert 'reality TV show, which is obviously scripted' here} last night? Here is {insert 'grade-school recap of thing that happened in reality TV show last night' here}." or "OMFG GOYS, LOOK AT WHAT RACIST CLAIMS TRUMP JUST REPEATED! THE THIRD ONE WILL TERRIFY YOU!!1!").

Twitter is a propaganda weapon developed by the jews. Look up the financial reports -- It has never been profitable. Any normal company in the same situation would have gone bankrupt many years ago. It's being propped up with millions upon millions of dollars of political and jewish money

Don't forget the addictive properties of social media. Researchers have already discovered that simply seeing that someone "liked" something you posted gives you a hit of endorphins and/or dopamine- a sort of high. It makes you feel good.

As with anything, if you rely on one thing to get those endorphin hits, your brain will become dependent on that outside stimulus in order to drop any endorphins into your blood. People actually get Twitter withdrawals.

If you think (((they))) are unaware of this, you're a fool and you deserve to be addicted to some jew trickery.

Who was the last sensible president in regards to computers? The one who never wrote an email even though it was available? Allegedly the guy said something along the lines of: I've seen too many people type too much stupid shit to do that...

I'm sick of local news reporting on social media drama. Who gives a fuck about Twitter or Roseann? I'm here to see traffic, weather, and any local events that may impact of daily life. Yet, I'm met with some AP article about a fat Hollywood slob posting on fucking Twitter.

Why do you think Trump made Twitter his hub for dispersing his messages?

They morphed Twitter into an ethos machine. Think about the blue check mark. If you don't play ball with their rules, they take away your "authentic" mark, shaming you, and destroying your public image.

It's another form of control.

It's not.

Twitter was propped up for a reason, and the reason gets explained in the next line. Trump took advantage of his enemies['] weaknesses. This shouldn't surprise you.

I actually wish he didn't use twitter

Wait until you find out more about why and what he does.

Agreed is just stupid and makes no sense. It falls under the following: I am dumb, how can I make myself look smart, educated and interesting? I know. I will Tweet fake news to other just as a fake people, repeat often.

So true, but it proves what we are becoming, parrots of nonsense, most do not check the facts and just parrot what is said by others. Lazy cheap entertainment.

The kicker is that the headline will read something along the lines of "The internet just exploded/broke over..." and the tweets will be from leftists who have 43 followers or some such number. Now mind you, I think creating articles around social media posts is asinine, but you would think they could at least find people who have quite a following and are credible sources.
