I'm self employed pulling about $60k. After taxes (state, local, federal) that's $35k. After rent, it's $24k. That's how much I have for gas, food...feeding kids is expensive. I can't freaking afford health insurance, so I don't have any.

Fuck, ouch man. That's pretty much why I shuttered my business a few years ago... in a nutshell. Also, I am in Los Angeles, where they do literally everything they can to discourage small business from succeeding in any way.

Good luck man, I hope your business fairs better than mine, but you could always shit it down and just get a job paying easily more than twice as much, because I did.

Yeah I'm interviewing. The good thing is, I'm not so desperate that I have to take whatever shitty job presents itself first.

Not true, (((they))) don't want us to die while we're still able to pay taxes, just to suffer

Yeah, it's difficult to see how bad it is until you start paying quarterly taxes as a contractor. Then you realize how badly you're getting raped.

Sounds like you need to check your white privilege, bud.

I’ve got two and one on the way...feeding kiddos is indeed expensive. Housing and daycare is worse. ...good luck.....and keep at it.

Wife is Traditional, so we're one income but no daycare costs. Housing is fucking ridiculous.

Don't feel bad. I don't have any either. I know lots of people who dropped or don't have any insurance. It is by design that white men who work their ass off can't afford it.

Average ER visit is around $2200. Walk in clinic $100 to see a nurse practitioner. Oh did you need treatment? Ouch, that's going to be really expensive.

Just be happy for the doctors who live in multimillion dollar houses and drive $100k cars. While their trophy wives do yoga all day. /s

Socialism in action.

Working whites have to pay for themselves AND lazy, low-iq, unemployed niggers.

Democracy in action.

The vote cast by a nigger leads to a law to force a white to pay for the nigger.

If everybody just paid for their own insurance, as you would expect in a free-market capitalist system, some people would pay little, namely just their own costs, and some people (the aforementioned lazy, low-iq, unemployed niggers) could not pay at all and would simply die off.

Just for the record - healthcare insurance costs were on a steady - or I should say closer to exponentially raising year after year before Obamacare. After Obamacare they did a FUCKING FAGGOT trick and rather than keep raising premiums / insurance cost - they fucking sky rocketed deductibles. I'm guessing that was to hide the fact costs were not actually getting better - though part of me now thinks it may be because people simply could not fucking afford to pay any more for health insurance.

That faggot Obama was in the pocket of insurance corporations from the get go, it's what made me cross him off the list of viable candidates I'd consider at the time [for some reason I was not yet fully aware of just how ridiculously horrible democrats were and are - thank goodness for getting moar woak!] I thought it was common knowledge, but it seems to have gone down the memory hole.

Obama played the insurance companies for saps. He dangled some short term financial gain to get them to endorse a system designed to intentionally collapse the industry paving the way for national single payer.

[–] toobah 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

That wasn't true for me. My insurance premiums increased a couple of times in the 7 or so years I had it before ObamaCare by a couple of percent.

Immediately after ObamaCare it jumped like 15%, then another 30% a couple of years later, then my insurer dropped me despite my plan having been "grandfathered" in. The shittiest ObamaCare plan I could find was over twice as much in monthly premiums.

[–] harmlessgryphon 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Now, they just both go up. My insurance has seen 10-ish% increases each year over the past few years for premiums, and deductible went from 1000 to 2500 to 3000 to 5000.

I have to be very choosy in going to see the doctor, when you get a $300 bill because your deductible isn't met, it hurts.

Doesnt obamacare ban catastrophic insurance?

[–] lord_nougat 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Does it? Wouldn't that pretty much make it not even insurance at all? What a fucking scam! I'm sure glad I'm not a poorfag... but that said, my insurance still hardly covers much, and always sends me random bills for things I thought should have been covered, because they can.

Why would I go to the doctor anyway? I have more health now that I do my own research. After healing a cavity on myself, I quit the dentist too. Traditional diet+Exercise+low stress+herbs/natural remedies bring great health that doctors will never know. It’s too cheap and too simple for (((big pharma))) to recommend anything but drugs and surgery.

Interesting. I don’t brush my teeth but once a day now with a clay based toothpaste I got off Amazon (Redmond Earthpaste). As long as I eat well, my mouth and teeth stay healthy with minimal effort. I tend to follow a traditional diet (see Weston A Price’s research) and eat mostly organic/local.

Obamacare changed healthcare for the worse.

Only for you.

For the lazy, retarded, unemployed nigger Obamacare changed things for the better, because it forces you to pay what the nigger couldnt afford previously.

Every socialist wealth redistribution scheme is bad for the victim and good for the socialist. Making healthcare more "equal" was Obamacare's core goal.

What the fuck. That sounds downright criminal.

Actually, the same thing did happen to me, but it was just my stupid local doctor. So I just got new insurance, which actually cost slightly less, provided I don't try using it.

Good. Going to a doctor is for when you're injured or having a baby. Running to some quack for antibiotics every time you get the sniffles is how you end up with a weak immune system and a new drug resistant super virus. If it isn't life threatening, honest doctors will just tell you to go home and drink orange juice anyway. You don't need to pay someone 800 dollars for that.

I'm inclined to agree, but I just had this horrible cough for over a month that was making me goddamn nearly useless. I had a really hard time just getting through an easy work day. So I went to the stupid doctor. Fucking BRONCHITIS, god damn it. She's all smarmy, "you should have come in when you first got sick." Whatever, bitch. Cure me so I can get back to work! After a few days on these antibiotics I am no longer a cough-zombie.

So yeah.

It's easy to say that in hindsight but no grown-ass man is gonna go to the doctor after a day or two of coughing. Some people think everyone is made of money.

I haven't been and I have private inaurance. But the out of pocket costs have increased so much that I only take my kids to their well visits and everything else I deal with the way my mom taught me unless it is a dire emergency.
