Firefox uses SafeBrowsing from Google too. Since the last update also on Linux and MAC.
Also with the next Firefox version all Extensions must be signed by Mozilla (Source).
I am glad I made the switch away from Mozilla products. If you make the same decisions Google made for their product, make sure you have the better product, because either you have to be first or be better.

So if you don't like Opera, don't trust chrome or ff... what's left? IE?

Neither IE or Edge is actually bad. There are some interesting forks of Chrome/Chromium and Firefox.
For my part I use Chrome on the Developer Channel, so I can use non webstore extensions. For professional use (or other places where dev channel builds are not an option) you can whitelist extension through gorup policys as far as I am informed.

You could use Pale Moon, or Midori, or some other browser.
