All "rock" stations play the same 25-30 songs for years on end.

No, I'm pretty sure I know what I heard for the last 3 decades. It's all stations actually. Maybe not the classical or bluegrass station.

no, that is indeed rock stations. pop music is easy as fuck to produce so you never really hear the exact same garbage more than a year.

They are stretching the FUUUCK out of this current batch of terrible songs. And being forced to listen to the radio is going to drive me mad. I swear to god if i turn on the radio I'm going to hear:

"You dont have to change a thing, youre beautiful even if youre fat"

"thunder lightning thunder lightning"

"I didn't know that i was starving til i tasted goo"

"I love cheap girls"

"Im in love with the shape of jew"

There was a time I would have a problem with the replacement. Now I have a problem with the signoff.

Seems appropriate, in a "this is who we are/were" sense.

I think this would have been the biggest slap in the face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Vwh-vvJENw

However, I don't think i'd be a dick to just some random christian group starting a radio station unless I knew they were indeed fucksticks.

Intersting lyrics, thanks for sharing. A bit straightforward for my taste - I like a bit of allusion.

Maybe "Wind-Up" by Jethro Tull would have been the ending that hit closer to home.

But, we don't know if the incoming people were dicks to those being fired, either, so the guessing game as to who the dicks are will have to stay up for interpretation!!!

I'm starting to enjoy local weekend radio. Local gardening shows and Car Talk. Good stuff.

How old are those clips of cartalk? One of the Magliozzi brothers died a few years ago and even then he hadn't recorded for years because he had Alzheimers.

There was a time when edgy rock music that praised the devil was considered deviant and a rival to pop culture. It isn't anymore. Now that Christianity is losing its grip on popular culture it is seen as the underdog and people are supporting it more. It's ironic that the same yearning for counter culture that propelled devil worshipping rock to the top has now turned the tables on them.

I don't care for Christian radio and I don't care for the same old rock music, I'll listen to talk or sports talk radio maybe classical music occasionally.

There is no such thing as good Christian music outside of gregorian chants from the latin mass and a few classical pieces like Ave Maria. The rest of it is just plain awful.

There actually is some really good Christian music out there. But they typically aren't played much on Christian radio. Most Christian pop music is bland and derivative, often just trying to imitate mainstream pop's flavor of the month. If you get into Christian metal for instance, there is some amazing talent. Some examples IMO (some are more down your throat than others):

Demon Hunter - Slight The Odds

Demon Hunter - I Will Fail You

Demon Hunter - Dead Flowers

Phinehas - My Horses Are Many

Phinehas - Crowns

War Of Ages - Creator

War Of Ages - All Consuming Fire

Living Sacrifice - Rules Of Engagement

Living Sacrifice - The Reaping

Living Sacrifice - The Battle

Theocracy - 30 Pieces Of Silver

Theocracy - Altar To The Unknown God

Theocracy - The Wonder Of It All
