Of course they call out one family who was abusing their kids to take away the rights of all parents. This is as ridiculous as gun laws: “one person abused a gun, therefore nobody gets a gun.”

It's as ridiculous has having fire inspectors check buildings for compliance with the fire code just because a few hundred people have died in buildings that weren't compliant. Where does this slippery slope end?

Hey guys, we have a massive homelessness problem. Let's make more rules for builders to follow, then lets charge them extra money for us to say they followed them. Doesn't matter if the rules actually prevent fires, it makes it look like we're doing some work.
