Sounds pretty sketchy to me also. My wonder is... what the hell did we just send up there?

"Either way, SpaceX was relying on a successful launch of Zuma to convince sceptical Pentagon chiefs to back it as it competes for more national-security launches against its primary rival, a joint venture between Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp."

Says to me that the Pentagon trusts Musk more than Boeing and Lockheed, and that whatever got put up was will not be the last of it.

No matter what happened to it they aren't going to tell the truth about it.

It didn't work. The secret payload failed to achieve orbit and we're not sure what happened. Nothing to see here. ...move along.

This was a necessary announcment due to the attention the mission had garnered. Now when things start blowing up and melting around the world we cant question the super top secret payload delivered to orbit on behalf of the US government recently. 'Nope, wasnt that thing. We dont know where that ended up. Shut up you conspirator.'

Just my opinion, but im an idiot.

If it is a "top secret spy satellite" how does a news agency know? Wouldn't it be launched under the guise of something like a communications satellite? Seems like a total misdirection to me.

http://archive.is/Rz9S0 I shit you not, I just read an article that says it was successful. Not only that! It says Zuma is a spacecraft not a satellite. Which I guess there is a difference, A spacecraft is a vehicle or device designed for travel or operation outside the Earth's atmosphere.

If I had to go out on a limb and speculate what zuma was I bet it has to do with the "US Prompt Global Strike Program".
