Medical marihuana doesn't contain THC as far as I know and that's the "dude, weed" chemical component.

CBD is what is thought to have healing properties.

THC and CBD both contain medicinal properties. As well as the other terpenes in the plant. People even say the raw juice works better for their cancer than smoking or eating it does.

It depends on which type of medical marijuana you are referring to. Some people can, and do, use smokeable weed as their prescription. Some people use edibles. Some use CBD oil which doesn't contain THC. So yes, there are versions which will not get you high and others that will.
