Do the math again and include extracting oil products, refinement, and transportation. Down with oil.

Here's the thing. Unless you eliminate plastic, wax, fertilizer well here's a list, you're going to mine oil anyway. The byproducts of batteries do not have other purposes and actually use volatile chemicals in the processing as well as dangerous mining practices. I wouldnt have said it if this argument hadn't been brought up a dozen times and won. Electric motors are brilliant.
So take this with you: I'm not knocking them and without this type of development we wouldnt be were we are today. But; the truth of it is, The Prius, is one of the most filthiest vehicles on the road second to the full blown electric vehicles TODAY. tomorrow, could be different.

Wait though. We use batteries for more than just electric cars. They are in our electronics and our non electric cars. So can't the same argument you made for oil use in plastics and such be used for batteries?
