He spent time at a youth correctional facility, was on ankle bracelet, etc. They find that youth offenders do less crime if they are on probation. It saves money and is more useful than locking them up in a youth facility where they will probably just join a gang or learn how to do more crime.

Sure he's a piece of shit. But we need consistency in litigation. He sure got more than Brock Turner. We need consistency in law. Minors can only be held to a certain age. We can't charge them as adults because that's the law. He's probably a registered sex offender now. So theres that.

The correct answer is 'they shouldn't be here in the first place.'

I don't know all of them personally, but my dad was a refugee from a war. He turned okay. Didn't rape anyone.

No, he should have been shot and hung up as a warning to the rest.

While that sounds all fine and dandy, and it is a very serious crime, how do we decide who to shoot and hang up? Should drunk drivers who kill people be shot and hung? I think so, but the justice system thinks otherwise. What about people who are starving and steal? Should we treat them like Jean Valjean? Juries and judges are what decides the fate of a criminal, so if you are unhappy you can become more active in voting, and the legal system.

Is that the case with all 40 year olds claiming to be minors?

This is the problem with all litigation and laws. When do we draw the line? What is porn? Who polices the police? What should be illegal what shouldn't? When do we charge someone as an adult is the same thing. Rape laws are pretty lax as it is, you get 4 years, sometimes 6 months, sometimes 20 years.

Mandatory minimum sentencing did not work out well at all, nor did 3 strikes your out laws.

So, we either have to be vigilant and go to jury duty as a civil service, vote new laws, repeal shitty laws, or follow the laws that are currently available.

The point is to keep innocent people out of jail. And the people need to make sure the judges that are appointed are kept to a higher standard and not corrupt.
