And people wonder why our current collapse into a corporatocracy is an issue. We need our government to be setting good policies that are going to affect our country for decades to come. Companies care about the next quarter's earnings - and that's it. These are two fundamentally opposed approaches to every facet of national policy-making.

But it just goes to show that money corrupts. They had the opportunity to begin the search for alternative fuels 27 years ago.... There would be unimaginable riches to be had if it went through. But they had to have all the money right now........ And a whole planet is paying for it.

Unsurprising. They are still doing it. In Florida, it's technically against the law to even talk about global warming and climate change. The government has been cutting funding to scientists for years. They're doing everything they can to plug their ears and scream at the top of their lungs.

There was a documentary which mentioned something about companies paying people to protest against climate change. I think it was Greedy Lying Bastards.
