Im just shocked people have used twitter this long. Its a terrible platform that has been to censored for to long. Infact I dont know a single real human who uses twitter. My suspicion is the vast majority of twitter users are bots.

It's a shit platform, but not without its uses. Triggering feckless leftards on twitter has been my main source of entertainment for the last few weeks.

Call me crazy but I think three letter agencies would rather prop these companies up to do their censoring and manufacture the consent of public opinion than to make it appear as if coming directly from government.

I've met a lot of redditors. I work in IT so everybody there knows about reddit. As for voat.. I bet I have met a few voaters but I can't say for sure. It's not like we could really admit to it or browse voat at work. The racists here made sure of that. Small price to pay for freedom I guess. Though it forces me to be an underground voater in public.

Maybe we need like a secret hand sign or something. Of course when it becomes public the media would freak out. That would be a fun show.

Cool. Social media has become indoctrination by bot. You'll be a lot happier without it.

I never understood Twitter when it first came out. When they mentioned the character limits I remember thinking to myself, "What's the point? I need more than 140 characters to get a point across sometimes and then there's no guarantee people will even listen to me." The layout looked ugly as all hell too. I'm used to imageboard formatting and Voat; Twitter doesn't make sense to me. The closest Twitter-type platform I can use (and I haven't used for a while) is WrongThink(dot)net.

You have to understand what Twitter is good for. It is not good for "getting a point across" in the Tweet itself, nor is it good for actual conversation.

It is very effective for quickly getting news directly from news sources (this is especially true for trade press which doesn't publish in anything approaching real time, or for real time reporting on Congressional committee hearings that don't get wide coverage in the broader press).

It is good for one liners and the occasional witty reparte of jests back and forth.

It is good for simple marketing blasts and announcements much like a newswire PR service.

If Trump made his own twitter, and just started posting there, you would see a flock of leftists follow his actions, just so they could reply with negative comments.

I've been monitoring Twitter's behavior, and am finding I don't agree with other groups they affilitate with; therefore, I will be censoring Twitter from my life.

How is this not full blown censureship? They provide a public service how is this not discrimination? Where are the car chasing lawyers? Who the fuck made them a god to decide who's been good or not...only Santa does that.

What kind of public service do they’ve provide? It’s a bunch of retards sharing their thoughts that nobody gives a fuck about.

That’s like saying the bakery down the street is a public service.

[–] Sueshia101 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Their business provides an electronic platform for the public that want to express themselves. I agree it's a strange place to go and visit. Well for the sake of argument a bakery provides food to the public so we expect it not to be positioned, nor do we expect them to deny anyone a purchase.

Except unfortunately now days stuff posted in there is treated as evidence and media uses it to play judge jury and executioner.

I'll give you serious answers to your questions.

How is this not full blown censureship?

Censorship is the persecution of individuals or groups by the government for holding certain beliefs or saying certain things. Twitter is officially a private corporation which controls a private website, and as such "censorship" laws don't apply to them. There is, however, a shadow of possibility in trying to sue them for utterly imbalanced and lopsided enforcement of their own rules, but that's a massive gray area and good luck getting past that wall of lawyers.

They provide a public service

No they don't. Twitter is a privately owned and operated site by a private company; it is neither government controlled (officially) nor is it a public space/public service.

Edit: what's with the downvoat? This is factual information. Whoever did that, don't be retarded and shoot the messenger. I'm only explaining the rationale, I didn't say you had to like it. Stop being a faggot.

They've been telegraphing for years now that they want to go full SJW. Just leave them to the SJWs. Good luck making money off of that crowd.

apparently that's the idea, they make a fuck ton off of social justice cunts, they are consumer class, privilege, hipster, trendy middle to upper class women, no families, disposable income they buy fucking anything marketed toward them, rainbow horsecock unicorn dildos likely sell like hotcakes

[–] Tsilent_Tsunami 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Well, they buy dildos with Trumps head on them. Interestingly, leftists are apparently having a serious issue with sex dreams about Donald. "It's like he's raping me every night"

You also may not affiliate with organizations that — whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform — use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes.

I look forward to the uniform enforcement of the new rules.

1) Antifa is more complicated. Some of its members employ the objectionable means of initiating extralegal street violence... https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/08/drawing-distinctions-antifa-the-alt-right-and-black-lives-matter/538320/

2) Then there is Black Lives Matter. It is a large, free-wheeling movement without clear leaders, and individual participants have no doubt acted badly on many occasions.

3) Rap Music Linked to Alcohol, Violence. A recent study by the Prevention Research Center of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Berkeley, Calif., suggests young people who listen to rap and hip-hop are more likely to abuse alcohol and commit violent acts. https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5390075

4) “Comedienne” Sarah Silverman called for a military coup. Madonna told protesters she “thought” about blowing up the White House. Violence seems to break out every time a conservative comes to speak at a college campus. Rosie O’Donnell talks about “stopping” Trump on Twitter. Snoop Dogg has done his best to get back on people’s radars since 1998 with his new music video in which he assassinates a clown dressed as Trump. http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/media/324233-violent-threats-against-the-president-is-ok-now

Same thoughts I had. I bet nothing will be uniform based on "we can do whatever we want". Twitter is about to end itself.
