No difference between this and tearing down Confederate memorials... Stop trying to erase history.

A country honoring its own history and an invader putting up propaganda pieces are not the same thing.

When a propaganda piece is the last reminder that there was an invader, then yes it is part of history. Move that stuff to a museum.

No they are not. But they are history.

Erasing history is wrong.

This is so different its mindboggling how some of you goats think to the contrary. Confederate memorials were to American leaders in the Confederacy who were admired by their people. These Communist memorials were put up by invaders.

Shouldn't it remain as a reminder that they got invaded by leftist faggots?

id leave it up but subvert it- i.e if its a statue of a marxist youd put your own statute up that has a gun pointed to the marxists head.

such a severe existential threat shouldnt be simply swept away, otherwise you leave your future generations venerable to it.

It's not erasing history in either case, it's refusing to glorify particular participants in it. The purpose of a bronze statue of a historical person isn't to say "by the way, this thing happened," it's to say "these guys were amazing and we should look up to them."

My problem with them tearing the confederate statues down is that they're trying to revise history as some morality play with the union on the side of good and the confederates on the side of evil, which isn't accurate. Also, the ones who want them taken down are often a fringe minority.

By contrast, the soviets genuinely were evil little shits, and they sure as hell don't represent the community those statues are located in.

That's entirely too dogmatic.
