Awesome... he's right once again. Now he's gotta fix it. I honestly have a lot more faith in him than any president prior.

Site screams fake news but it's not wrong. Their policies allowed China to game the system.

It also kinda screwed up Chinese individual buying power. They actually are pretty big on buying foreign goods or using say electronics built in the USA in their mass produced items as a means of quality control. Also consumer goods like baby formula, brand name clothes and American made vehicles fetch top dollar over there. You can almost double your money flipping baby formula and Arc'teryx jackets to the Chinese. Same goes for Toyota trucks for some reason.

Exactly this. Maybe some bleeding hearts would scream that we need to keep things fair, but those people aren’t the ones that would otherwise struggle with putting food on the table.

My guess is either he's getting a more complete picture of how terrible Bush and Obams were, or he just finished having a good time at the expense of the Chinese.

Mind you that's just a guess

Trump is pro-China. His grandkids are all taught chinese and his family celebrates Chinese new year.

Not necessarily surprising, because white right wingers (Hitler included) always tend to respect east asians because they are proud of their heritage (similarity in political spectrum). Another factor is that similar IQ species tend to get along better than species with high IQ gap.

Also let's not forget the fact that weebs overwhelmingly voted for Trump...

I think it's a combination of the two but with more weight to the side of the blame being on his predecessors.

What obama and bush allowed was equivalent to treason. Trump is the boss now. Change something.

What do you mean? This doesn't take away from that. It just says that it's the past administration's fault for doing nothing to protect the US from it.

Windbag talked tough during the elections and now what? By September of 2017 we were down - $273 billion in trade with china. Deficits in July, August and September were not seen since 2015. I don't see any "The ART of the deal" here. Kissing Chinese asses and pointing fingers at losers from the past is not gonna do the trick.

The USA didn't have to allow their companies to fuck off to China, but keep spending like they were still the biggest economy by a factor of 3.

It's like asking for credit then faulting the lender for giving you the money. Think sub prime crisis.

You know what was at the expense of the USA? Bill Clinton selling our industry and technology to them for personal gain. But you'll never fucking admit that's a problem, will you?

Fact Check: Who was president the last time the budget was balanced?

  • The U.S. government suffered budget deficits every year from 1970 through 1997.
  • Democrat Bill Clinton was president in 1998, when the government finally recorded a surplus.
  • There also were budget surpluses in 1999, 2000 and in 2001. 2001 was the last year the Clinton administration proposed the budget.
  • Republican George W. Bush succeeded Clinton in 2001. The United States had a budget deficit in 2002, and it has recorded budget deficits every year since. The deficit is projected to increase substantially this year under President Barack Obama.
  • Republicans say they should get at least some of the credit for the balanced budgets during the Clinton administration, because Republican majorities controlled both the House and Senate.

Read the bottom line after the jump.

Bottom Line: Democrat Bill Clinton was president the last time the federal budget was balanced, and Republicans controlled Congress.
