Everything about this Paddock narrative stinks. You don't win at gambling, not consistently. Casinos stay in business because you always lose, in the long run. The odds favor the house. If he was getting significant money out of the casinos, it was some kind of payoff for services rendered. Or it was just a lie to cover his real source of income. I don't buy that he became rich in real estate, either. He may have bought real estate, but I'm guessing his money came from some as yet unrevealed source. What was he? An informant for the FBI? A CIA spook? A mob guy? A hit man? A gun runner? A drug dealer?

Specifically, the game he was playing, video poker, is not really fun for almost anyone, and it's certainly impossible to beat. However, because the casino has a very small edge compared to most games and, because it has lower variance than slot machines, it is useful for two things, money laundering, and "comp whoring," which is essentially knowingly losing money to the house but hoping to make up for it by taking advantage of comps.

Money laundering sounds likely to me.

"Paddock made his living playing machines that reward those who set aside emotion in favour of calculus."

This part was true.

I posted this before in regards to Paddock's mysterious 'motive' and source of money, but I think it's worth a repeat...

Not saying this is related but it aroused at least some suspicion on the timing and related places.

Bangkok: Australian Federal Police have played a key role in uncovering a syndicate streaming extreme child sex and torture to Australian paedophile predators in a $1 billion-a-year underground industry in the Philippines. http://archive.is/ydGS2 http://www.smh.com.au/world/queensland-man-arrested-after-massive-child-porn-seizure-in-philippines-raid-20170514-gw4d2w.html

I believe I read something about Stephen Paddock starting to buy a lot more guns in June of 2017.

If, and that's a big if, he was involved in playing a role in an international child porn production or distribution and it was a good way to fund his gambling lifestyle, one could see how this bust might piss him off.

Major child webcam sex bust reveals rising abuse

The arrest of David Timothy Deakin in the Philippines has revealed one of the darkest corners of the Internet, where pedophiles in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia pay overseas facilitators to sexually abuse children and babies.

The arrests come two weeks after Philippine authorities, acting on an overseas tip-off, made one of the largest seizures of its kind in the country, uncovering a major operation live-streaming the abuse and torture of children from dark corners of the internet to predators in Australia, the US, Canada and Europe.

The AFP also played a key role in the arrest in the Philippines of 52-year-old alleged Australian child sex predator and "dark web" mastermind Peter Scully, who has been charged over what police say are the most shocking cases of child murder, torture and abuse they have seen in the country. (arrested 2015)

Seems Australian CP producers have quite a connection to working in the Philippines. Stephen Paddock didn't have a social media 'footprint' so we are told, but no one has told us whether or not he had a Dark Web 'footprint', using aliases... CP involvement would an ideal way to make money perhaps, if you want to spend a lot time gambling, or traveling.

The Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act does not apply to gaming areas of casinos. Smoking is still allowed in these areas; however, a casino operator can designate separate rooms or areas within the establishment as nonsmoking

That exemption could work out very well for them if they eventually allow heavily unarmed cannabis smoking in such areas.

Well I certainly can see that, given the circumstances.

Hating people is dumb. Come to that, hate itself is dumb, but if you're going to be a hater, at least be selective in who you hate -- don't just hate random people in a concert because they are happy and you are not. Paddock was a piece of shit.

I dunno. Hard to say he was a piece of shit, tbh. I think he was a product of this shit society: selfies, bullshit politics and corruption nonstop, denial, facades, and projection in every person nonstop; everyone's hypocritical as fuck, no introspection of society or even intrapersonally, no one admitting how we're all just animals and elements(garbage) at the base of it all, artificial environments (proven stressor), population density continually rising (proven stressor), loss of social cohesion, loss of shared identity and values (due to mass immigration, loss of homogeneity, and current lifestyles) and on and on and on.

I wouldn't say I "hate" people; I just find them to be generally disgusting and stupid as shit; and yet I admit that I am one myself. At times they can have their bright moments...but they'll never wind up failing to disappoint you in the end. I mean, what are we? Sacks of elements thrown together by a few billion years of evolution, with the sole purpose of making more sacks whose genetics should be slightly more evolved, more fit, for this particular environment. And what's the point of that? There is no point.

By all means, try to derive what enjoyment you can from life, absolutely...but don't kid yourself and pretend that humans are anything more than useless sacks of elements that will return their elements to the ground after ~60 to 100 years of nonstop grandstanding, greed, hypocritical projection, and attention seeking behavior.
