Can't understand people who get offended over the wording of a memorial, and I'm saying that as someone who calls themselves an atheist.

Same, there is a tasteful way to assert religious equality, protesting crucifixes on public monuments isnt it. Personally I don't care, but I feel like politely petitioning for additional religious symbols would have gone over better. Jewish star, Darwin fish, etc.

How about just a tombstone, or a helmet on a rifle? What if the city council didn't want to bother and just said "we'll just scrap the idea and use the funds somewhere more productive?"

But naw, three people that have invested themselves for the betterment of the community have to go home with a scarlet letter because a group of petty individuals took issue with the most trivial of things

At least you're not a cunt about it. I've come to loath atheists because of their smarmy at best attitude.

I've left two metropolitan atheist groups because of this.
