This creates the question of why?

Metal detector companies would make a bit more money (a shit ton https://www.ncjrs.gov/school/ch3a_5.html ),

the mandatory security would create jobs for slobs (refer to previous article),

but the big one is that traveling with a weapon would be pointless (can't take it in).

This does nothing to stop an active shooter though. Even if you have people on the doors there's always methods of sneaking in weapons. The most active reason I can think of is because this would just create a false state of fear (constantly having eyes on you does that). This would also be one step closer to disarming the populace.

Edit: I'm almost wondering if they're trying to tighten down security to help stop the flow of laundered money. Metal detectors wouldn't really do this, but I'm just coming up with ideas. Interesting article on it -> http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/how-did-this-man-launder-nearly-1-billion-through/5961908

Control the people, and make money doing it. You don't think the TSA actually does anything, do you? Bet you the company selling the x ray machine made bank though.

This was the first thought that came to my mind when the TSA started buying up tons of scanning equipment, and any time big security changes get brought up. I'd be curious to read any research about who owns firms that manufacture and maintain metal detectors and body scanners, and what friends they have in high places.

concise, and poignant on an operational level of just a few months or a year. which is why it wouldn't be the plan.

longtail— the protection and security forces are growing very fast. agencies are staffed— with enough turn around, and a few more years time, most people will have had someone currently working for, with, or retired from a government agency, within their family.

many old-time (60s utopia shit) think-tanks, and now, contemporary think-tanks kinda favor the 70s robotech thinking. everyone will be a part of some sort of exploration/protection service, under one government comprised of military and policy through enforcement.

or star trek shit. we all work for the federation.

we do anyhow.

it's future control programming nigger.

Actually it's nothing more than a way to make money. The control aspect that follows is happenstance that they don't care about. Politicians will care about it but these guys are just looking to make a buck.

How do you stop murder? Once you answer that, now answer how much freedom do you have to relinquish to accomplish that?

I hate to sound like the London mayer but we have to live with the fact that murder is going to happen. Where he and I differ is I don't believe that I have to increase the rate of murder simply to be more inclusive. Extremism and mental health are the easiest things to tackle and should be actively neutralized. Unfortunately the left has been trying to harbor both of these. They normalize extremism and mental illness, and make our society much more unsafe. Then when something bad happens they just say, oh we need more regulations, instead of actually seeking to fix the root cause.

It is absolutely true that living in a society with guns has drawbacks. The difference between what you're saying and what London's pig fucker said is that guns are more useful than harmful, and Muslims are not. There is no identifiable benefit to having Muslims around. If they're going to cause the slightest problem, and they certainly will do that and more, they need to go.

[–] Fuzzycrumpkin 1 points 6 points (+7|-1) ago

All ideology can be twisted to create extremists, it just depends how hard you have to twist. Buddhists philosophy for instance has to be twisted a lot in order to illicit an extreme response. Christianity and Judaism not as much. Muslims very easy to produce extremists. I think that until Islam undergoes a revolution like Christianity that they shouldn't be allowed to populate in a Christian land. I however believe it would be stupid to leave Muslims to do the revolting themselves. I think that Muslims need to be educated, because an educated populace is harder to control. It is why I didn't have a problem with Muslims coming over here on visas to take part in college, but then I started to learn that university are indoctrinating anti-west and anti-america ideals into people, so now it is no longer a benefit it just hurts us unless it is a trade school. I still think education is the best tool to jump start their revolution but the best I can come up with now is that they should learn in their own countries.

I think that if left to their own devices that they would go another 1400 years as they are now. And saying, oh we should wipe them out is just never gonna happen. Every time someone says it, it just makes me think of an idiot at a strategy meeting. Yeah sure you show you hate Muslims but how bout you bring something we can actually use to the fucking discussion.

It'd be easier to make the TSA into top-notch security than properly tackle mental health issues. Even if you knew you could slip in and out of the psychologist's office without anybody knowing, quite a few diagnoses come with restrictions; since nobody wants to fall victim to those restrictions, almost nobody who isn't having their life actively ruined by mental illness is going to get help without a court order.

True, but it is why gun control is such a futile effort. It tries to accomplish stopping something you can't stop only inhibit.

[–] DeltaBravoTango 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

How are those two things the easiest to tackle? Mental health is a difficult one. When you put restrictions on mental patients, people don't get treated in order to keep their freedoms. Now the people are worse off and still armed.

[–] Fuzzycrumpkin 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Do you believe I vote left, or are you just saying that you believe the left is a mental disease? If so I would agree. They suffer with a type of compulsive altruism. It is a altruism that will justify violence and murder in order to fulfill a impossible utopian fantasy. If your utopia requires that you sacrifice millions each attempt that you make to achieve it, and yet you think next time will be different. At the very least it is a form of zealotry, but I'm pretty sure it is sufficient to say it makes you crazy.

I highly doubt this clown acted alone, or even if he had anything to do with it. It's reminiscent of the Oswald hanging from his toes out of the window of the conservatory.

58 dead 500 injured by one old man with a gun 350 feet in the air. Really???

Firing into a crowd of 20,000, tightly packed, that proceed to trample each other? Those numbers aren't a stretch by any means. I'm surprised it isn't higher.

You think an AR-15 couldn't do that? You're plinking rounds at a lethal range into a tightly grouped pack of people. Even if the gun was automatic it was overkill.

3

[–] elitch2 2 points 3 points (+5|-2) ago  (edited ago)

I know an AR could not do that. no single shooter could. Also, that is not a .223 shot sound. That is 7.62 or maybe .308

The crack from passing rounds is much too deep to be a bee sting.

It's not the hardware it's the operator. 350' is a long way up if he isn't trained I don't see how he could pull it off. Maybe he did I really don't know. I'm just always skeptical of these events being what we are told they are especially when it comes to the perpetrators identity.

This was clearly targeting conservatives but I don't think it had anything to do with Antifa. This was an old man with a fuckton of guns. The 4chan posts definitely cast some doubt as to whether or not this had more nefarious motivations than mere politics.
