The series of books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, which first began in 1945, is considered to be a staple in children’s literature for its empowering and unconventional female character.

But apparently poor Pipi just wasn't progressive enough.

The line they're changing is from pipi's father being "a negro king" to "king of he south seas." So it's not even internally consistent!
