Disagree. Sometimes it benefits the tax payer for our government to provide gentle subsidies to industry in order to stimulate business.

Unfortunately, pro sports is not one of those times. Seems like most people in here don't understand the depth of the problem. The biggest part of it is the fact that most stadiums are financed with municipal bonds. Municipal bonds can be cool, but most of the bond programs associated with pro sports are scams. Municipal bond scams have the potential to drag a city into bankruptcy.

The government shouldn't be picking and choosing winners through subsidies. The only reason it would ever be required is for a business that shouldn't exist in the first place due to not enough demand, or if the government is standing in the way too much already, in which case, they should step aside and let people compete on the market.

Agriculture in developed countries shouldn't exist because it can't compete with agriculture in third world countries. Oh no, war breaks out. Now we can't feed our people and half the country is starving.

Anarcho-capitalists are morons.
