Seems like a fair trade, you give up personal responsibility for your actions, and we rescind your responsibility to make the country better. IF you have shown you cant mange yourself, why should we trust you to manage the outcome of a country? And as always, millennials are the first in line to give up their rights in drove, without realizing what it is they are giving up.

How did Trump get elected?

It is true that a a single vote is practically guaranteed to not influence any given election's outcome, and that's probably one of the factors to cause so many millenials to take up such a hypothetical offer. On the surface, they'd be guaranteed to not have to worry about a debt that could take upwards of decades to pay off, at the cost of something that wouldn't change the direction of society anyway.

It's an incredibly short-sighted and selfish mindset to have, but certainly not an irrational one, IMO.

Think about this. Their whole life they have been told that if you didnt go to college they would be homeless bums. We should blame the system that victimized they generation not the victims. Everyone just wants the fuck out of debt.

This is retarded. The costs of education have been massively inflated by loans. Furthermore the value of the degree is dropping as well because more people have them. Also at the same time the job market has been destroyed by illegal immigrants, visa scabs and offshoring.

If anybody should have their voting franchise taken it should be the multinational corporation leaders. No one has done more damage to the country than them. No on has been more irresponsible or selfish.

Your post is terrible because you didnt examine or think about any of the details that surround this issue.

Have a down voat from me because you dont realize that the people who cast a vote caused all this. I feel like this is what OP was trying to get at. I do agree that MNC's are a terrible thing. I would also say that polls are easily manipulated so calm down my fellow Voater.

Regardless of this story, it is absurd that you don't need an ID to vote but need one to buy a huge range of products

Just shows that debt is the most crushing form of wage slavery, I dont blame them but the real fix is a proper education system and opportunity

Nobody's putting a gun to your head and making you take on debt. Buddy of mine took on almost zero debt to gain an education in welding, bro makes plenty of money.

I took on close to $30k in debt after doing my research, paid it off easily in 2 years, and it easily tripled my income.

Financing low yield degrees results in the same thing as borrowing to buy other bad investments, and has the same consequences. There should be no surprises here.

Congrats man, it sounds like things have turned out good for you and that's good to hear. I think it's not so much somebody putting a gun to your head to take on debt, but rather ironically it's the gun you put to your own head by wading into it without knowledge of what it can do. And therein lies the problem, the knowledge is not instilled in most people on how to handle interest laden debt because it's become normalized to take on credit cards, get loans and buy now pay later. Awareness is something that is missing for most people (there are always exceptions), and i personally don't think its a coincidence that its pushed in our society as our governments themselves are caught in this trap via Central Banks.

So then when they cycle into the older, wiser generation every election will be left to be decided by all the new dipshit kids?

They should give their vote to gen Z.

This is actually a neat thought experiment. What if anyone could give their vote to anyone else, increasing that person's weighted impact? Would we end up with a de facto second electoral college?

They're all white too. Browns don't have to pay for college.

Well that makes sense since I’m sure most of them know enough by now to see that voting has never mattered.

I think this idea is racist, as student loans are overproportionally racked up by whites. Blacks should be able to trade their vote for $5,000 in cash and an unlimited line of credit for future student debt at any of a few pre-selected, especially diversity-friendly unis like Berkley, cost carried courtesy of the uni to help advancing diversity and social justice.

Yeah, because unis declining money is what they do best. Maybe unis that receive more in grant money and other funding should provide lower tuition.

I think property owners, taxpayers, and retired military should have franchise, no one else. Over 65, if you take SS you still get to vote so long as you met some or all of the criteria.
