It was bound to stop working. Mainly because they can't understand the different world view of modern children. Also the fact that feminism has mutated into a pro-islam, pro-LGBTQWEQDFDSK, anti-white, anti-male platform.
Kids that grew up in the late 80's and 90s didn't have a generational villain/enemy. They saw commies and nazis as defeated foes. Terrorists are a few extremists because they were old enough to understand individuality and affiliation. But the kids that grew up with constant terrorism and the war in iraq, they hate terrorists. They hate islam. And they won't let their guard down just because some woman says this muslim is safe. Trying to sell muslim refugees to high school kids and they'll all squirm uncomfortably, because it's playing on the base fear and distrust of a universal enemy. It would be like saying former German soldiers and hitler youth are immigrants coming to American in mass after WW2. It would be revolting to the children that grew up hating them.
Particularly when now that they are old enough to rationalize, Europe decided to provide extra evidence. Every #pray_for_city is a reminder to kids that "terrorist are evil" and "muslims are terrorists". Thus muslims are evil. But honestly the Grande concert was perhaps the single biggest nail in the coffin of feminism. Because that could have been any middle/high school girls, which means middle/high school girls reacted the strongest to it. And without girls believing, why would the boys.
