For those who don't know the point is you buy the fish a few days early instead of waiting for the last minute. You keep it alive in your bathtub because you don't have a big fish tank just for Christmas dinner. Then you have fresh fish.

Nothing about this practice hints at intelligence. "Say, let's stop bathing." "I know, we'll eat some shitty fish for Christmas instead of something good." There's so much more, but I think I've made my point.

It's a tradition developed during communism, when you had to be a apparatchik to own a fridge, carps were a treat compared to what else was available, and water was one of the very few things that wasn't in short supply. Poles could easily deal with a few days without bathing in exchange for having something nice for once.

Why would you only have one bathtub? Even if you do, you should be able to go without a bath for a day or two and take a bath when the fish goes in the oven. Second, your arrogance is a display of stupidity. Intelligent people don't need to talk shit about others; it is what losers do.
