I took his point to be that illegally occupying a roadway is a stupid thing to do. So you're in favor of protesters (of whatever political persuasion) being able to illegally obstruct roadways at their whim?
I personally am not. I think whenever protesters illegally occupy a roadway they should be immediately removed by police, using whatever force is required.
That's exactly what we saw with the Phoenix police - and the opposite of what we've seen in many locales in California, Oregon, Washington, Virginia, and elsewhere.
I also believe that when trapped on a roadway amidst illegal protesters (or rioters), these illegal mobs can and often do become violent and attack vehicles and their occupants, in which case driving off at a high rate of speed is an act of self defense.
Selectively enforcing the rule of law according to political whim is the quickest route to totalitarianism. That's what you're arguing for?

There we go. Are we going to have our police enforce laws, or is it a free for all out there? If we're going with laws, enforcement necessarily entails whatever force required to do the job.
You shouldn't be allowed to outright murder people, but individuals intentionally blocking streets, roads, or highways with their bodies for illegal purposes should have no valid claim, whatever level of injuries or death they sustain by any driver "fearing violence".
