The views portrayed in his manifesto weren't even extreme, at most they could be considered center or moderate views. He even provided citations and research backing his claims and google did nothing but brush his opinion aside and actually call everything he said outright wrong. It means that google is the very extreme left. They are the very ones that we ridicule on here day after day, and this is to say they are like antifa or BLM far gone. That is not to say that everyone at google is that way, but it is at the very least plaguing a majority of the upper echelon.

Just a reminder, the "left vs. right" model of politics has no relevance outside of 18th century france. The leftists have done their best to keep it dominant in people's minds because it means they're 50% of any political debate (even if they're only one of a hundred ideologies) and they can conveniently smear anyone who isn't left enough as being part of some uniform "right wing." It's also a convenient trash can for any leftists who make them look bad.

Individualism vs collectivism is the real political struggle.

He didn't even share it to the 50,000+ employees.

He shared it to a small group of seemingly like-minded individuals who then shared it on Google's internal social media site, who then shared it with Gizmodo.

This if proof that Google is fully converged and should be a signal to any would-be competitors that their days of dominance are numbered.

Someone here suggested making a new search engine, and calling it Gorillion.

"Gorillions of search results, right at your fingertips"

It's brilliant.

Decided to start reading his manifesto. It's good. This post actually got crazy long as I started quoting highlights.:

http://gizmodo.com/exclusive-heres-the-full-10-page-anti-diversity-screed-1797564320

"At Google, we talk so much about unconscious bias as it applies to race and gender, but we rarely discuss our moral biases. Political orientation is actually a result of deep moral preferences and thus biases. Considering that the overwhelming majority of the social sciences, media, and Google lean left, we should critically examine these prejudices."

He mentions that unconscious bias again, they're definitely SJWing their employees. This next part I call the uh oh Google section.:

"I strongly believe in gender and racial diversity, and I think we should strive for more. However, to achieve a more equal gender and race representation, Google has created several discriminatory practices:

Programs, mentoring, and classes only for people with a certain gender or race [5]

A high priority queue and special treatment for “diversity” candidates

Hiring practices which can effectively lower the bar for “diversity” candidates by decreasing the false negative rate

Reconsidering any set of people if it’s not “diverse” enough, but not showing that same scrutiny in the reverse direction (clear confirmation bias)

Setting org level OKRs for increased representation which can incentivize illegal discrimination [6]

These practices are based on false assumptions generated by our biases and can actually increase race and gender tensions. We’re told by senior leadership that what we’re doing is both the morally and economically correct thing to do, but without evidence this is just veiled left ideology[7] that can irreparably harm Google."

Daddy Google is not liking that one.

"Just as some on the Right deny science that runs counter to the “God > humans > environment” hierarchy (e.g., evolution and climate change) the Left tends to deny science concerning biological differences between people (e.g., IQ[8] and sex differences)."

REEEEEEEEEEE (IQ and the bell curve are my favorite go to's against liberals who claim the right are anti science. You'll see them all of a sudden denounce scientific research, studies, and evidence.)

Just a good point that hits the left hard.:

"De-emphasize empathy.

I’ve heard several calls for increased empathy on diversity issues. While I strongly support trying to understand how and why people think the way they do, relying on affective empathy—feeling another’s pain—causes us to focus on anecdotes, favor individuals similar to us, and harbor other irrational and dangerous biases. Being emotionally unengaged helps us better reason about the facts."

"Our focus on microaggressions and other unintentional transgressions increases our sensitivity, which is not universally positive: sensitivity increases both our tendency to take offense and our self censorship, leading to authoritarian policies. "

Jesus fucking Christ they have micro aggression training there.

"Microaggression training incorrectly and dangerously equates speech with violence and isn’t backed by evidence."

"Reconsider making Unconscious Bias training mandatory for promo committees."

Holy shit he's just a rational fucking person who went to a great deal of trouble to examine his own and others ideas. Then presents them in a format he thinks will help the company and it's people.

It's even worse. In the actual memo he hyperlinks to studies proving each of his claims.

For example:

I am a researcher, and any excerpt I've seen seems to use well-written, science-based arguments. And then Google employees went crazy. Google is supposed to be all about science. But they sure didn't show it here. It only reinforced my one experience working with Google previously: equal parts arrogance and ignorance.

My only experience in trying to use some of their open-source code (Google Test for cpp code) was that it's spaghetti code that can't be easily extended. I found that I couldn't even add a custom output without halfway rewriting it for them.

...I mean, that's a pretty short CV for a researcher. No doubt he's very clever and probably a very good researcher, but genius might be stretching it. He's a genius by normie standards, but for a giant like google, he can be replaced by somebody with similar credentials. Money, money, money.

To be fair. Not a CV. A highlight. All of those listed works would results in at least one, and probably more, journal articles. Plus additional presentations at industry consortia, book chapters, that sort of thing. A full CV is a much longer and detailed.

Hahahahaha

If Google becomes self aware, it will probably destroy its creators for getting rid of him.

Seriously though, this is like Stallin purging university professors for wrong think.

Google is now like the invincible knight, with swift reflexes, impenetrable armor, and dying of cancer- the armor rusting from the inside out.
