I read it and thought it was a very thoughtful attempt to save a company he clearly cares about. And while everyone's calling him racist, misogynist, etc. his intention is clearly to be inclusive of all groups, just not blindly. Oh well, once the guy gets his life ruined and called a racist wherever he goes, maybe he'll realize these people can't be reasoned with. I think he correctly identified the cause though. They've identified these are moral issues that can't be refuted by logic or science.

Honestly, I'm sick of people trying to plea to companies to change their culture. If you don't like it leave. If you're right and it's a horrible company culture the company will eventually fail because talented people will work someplace better. He's just spinning his wheels with these people and using valuable mental resources on trying to change something that won't change. I know it's probably hard for him to leave the Google teat since they provide you with everything you need and more, but you can't put a price on sanity.

And while everyone's calling him racist, misogynist, etc.

And playing exactly into the kind of authoritarian, shaming echo chamber the paper's author was concerned about.
