There is a kernel of truth to it. Ancient Greek and Roman statues and buildings were not the dusty white color they are now, they were once vividly painted, but the paint's been worn away.

However, saying that historians view the ancients as white because they are depicted in white marble is idiotic. You can tell by looking at a statue of Julius Caesar that he is white, not a Kangz. Also, the part where the author of the article whines about how he was a Kangz is pretty hilarious. The ancient Greeks and Romans were probably whiter than modern Greeks and Italians, due to a thousand years of Arab and Turkish admixture.
