CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program

Hands up. Who here even knew CNN had a New Year's Eve program? Go ahead this is a safe space free of all judgement.

Hahaha... I knew. She hosts (hosted) it with Anderson Cooper. It's literally the worst way to spend New Year's eve. As far as TV viewing is concerned.

So they still have a CIA operative working for them, but Griffin is fired? I guess you have to draw a line somewhere, even when you are as full of bilous shit as CNN.

Most of their ratings from NYE are generated by nurses that leave the TV on for the comatose in geriatric facilities.

Yes it was, also chiming in to say that I occasionally watch CNN, Fox and MSNBC including the new years special.

Lemon was fucking hammered that night.

Since it seems like this comment is near the top is as good a place as any to ask:

What good does it do anyone to keep getting each others preferred talking heads fired?

I mean, I'm glad O'Reilly is out because I like Carlson better I don't see why the left sees it as some huge victory.

I don't think there are swarms of people mindlessly devoted to Griffin in such a way that taking her down is some praiseworthy accomplishment.

On the other hand, I guess this is just more evidence that markets work; media organizations are far more responsive to the public at large than governments are.

This isn't enough. Remember when Pepsi did that stupid commercial. No exposure is bad exposure to these people. They knew better when they did it, even more so when they released it. Unleash hell. This is going to be deliciously rehashed on the image boards.

A few years ago she caused a stir when she was doing the new years eve thing and she shouted at some drunk heckler "Hey, I don't go to your job and knock the dick out of your mouth!" That went out live on cnn.

Can you imagine being a person who sits at home watching a CNN New years eve special hosted by Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin? I mean if I ever reach that point it would be about 10 seconds after I put the gun in my mouth and I have that slight last moment of doubt and I need that extra little push to pull the trigger.

No one watches CNN. The only reason why it still exists is because they managed to dupe idiots who have cable subscriptions into having to pay a fee for cnn being in the basic cable package.

If everyone who hates cnn where to cut the cord, they would go out of business overnight.

Go to the airport or any other place with TVs playing out in public areas, more often then not it is showing CNN.

The Boomers watch CNN. That is actually the main target market - I believe.

The 70+ crowd.

Are you one of those who have to go out because it's New Year's Eve?

Yeah, you say that now... I knew a guy who used to express the same "kill me if I ever get old and senile" sentiment. But then when he got old and literally senile, he FREAKED when I pointed out he was the person he wanted dead.

Point is, once you become that tv watching person, it's already too late. It's not YOU anymore. It's some tv watching idiot who just can't think of anything better to do. (You're gonna have to set up some kind of fail-safe system, where that tv watching idiot who took over your mind and body doesn't have a say in what happens...)

The insane Anti-Trump propaganda machine is so ubiquitous and so relentless, it's pretty unsurprising that people think this kind of thing is OK. They jump on the bandwagon and get constant support for their hyperbolic bullshit; radicalized, if you will.

Exactly the right word. It's what follows "indoctrination".

I've been saying this for a while now to people who are consumed with hatred for Trump. The problem with hatred is that it only ends up destroying the person who is so consumed by hatred, and not the object of their hatred.
