we haven't found any. we've never seen evidence of life anywhere else and thus only one genesis event has occurred that we know of.

You are arguing against hawking and statistics
The statistical probability that we are the universal origin of intelligent life, and that we are anything greater than amino acids is outstanding.
In an infinite universe there is the statistical ability to create the arrangement of components that something may have the ability to form into life, but that still doesn't guarantee life.
For me the likely answer is aliens are real, they exist, and are abstaining from contact with us. When I say us, I mean peasant class, non governmental entities.

I'm not sure you are getting this. There has been zero evidence for what you have embraced, none. Arguing statistics prove something that is as yet unproven is a ludicrous statement.
The universe is not infinite, it's demonstrable human knowledge that the universe had a beginning and isn't infinite with regards to time, so why would it be infinite in regards to xyz area which is directly connected with space/time? The universe isn't infinite by any metric, just impossibly big. Also, may i add that you seem to give yourself and your humanity no value. You behave as though the genesis of life (scientifically speaking) on earth is common throughout the universe without evidence, when life is in fact unique to earth (you can add a "so far" if you want), it is one of a kind, and likely will be the only one we ever find.
no, you mean the completely unlikely, absurdly unlikely, or astronomically unlikely (chance of a 0% occurrence is 0%). You've been lied to and in response deluded yourself into thinking humans are nothing, life is nothing, and the grass is greener even though you can't see the field.
