When I saw this today, my first thought was how tone deaf airline employees are ... don't they watch the news ... don't their managers give them even a little guidance about what the world is saying about airlines and such nonsense. Geez. Clueless.

I bought a seat for my 1 1/2 year old who I knew would not want to sit there, but I wanted the space for when he got antsy mid-flight. A flight attendant tried to tell me that since I purchased the seat he had to sit in it. I just frowned at her, pulled out my boob to feed the kid, and she walked away.

Maybe ... but from the article I read earlier, they tried to say the couple didn't have the seat. But they did, they purchased it, moved through the whole boarding thing and took their assigned seats. Only when the airline decided it was overbooked did they see a problem. But you may be technically correct. Still tone deaf though, in the current spotlight on such things.

From the FAA's website, and the linked article above:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) strongly urges you to secure your child in a CRS or device for the duration of your flight.

Meanwhile, from the article itself:

Later in the video, another employee said that Federal Aviation Administration rules stipulate that a 2-year-old cannot be in a seat, or occupy a car seat, and needed to be sitting an adult's lap.

In other words, even the airline employees don't know what FAA rules state. The only thing the FAA says about it, is that it "strongly urges" the practice of CRS's. There's nothing there about them being mandatory. Further, if the kid sitting on their lap was an option the airline was willing to give them, I'm sure the employee would have mentioned it.

Fact remains, the guy bought a ticket, and there are very specific rules to follow and rights a paid-and-boarded customer gets when he has to give up a ticketed seat due to overbooking, and it looks like Delta did not follow any of those well-established procedures...but what do you expect in an industry that is essentially protected, via government monopoly, from competition? Cocksuckers or not, Delta breached their contract with this man by attempting to revoke his tickets without any form of compensation offered prior to the attempt to revoke. If I sell you the right to use my widget for a set amount of time, and then deny you the use of my widget, but keep your money, that's Fraud. When Delta does it (Or United, or any other government-subsidized airline corporation), it's just another day of business.

two and under can sit on the parents lap for free, if you want to put them in a car seat or their own seat you have to pay for a ticket. the guy did buy a ticket but you can't transfer them to other people, which is what he tried doing.

This is so messed up, if you pay for a seat IT IS YOUR SEAT! Frankly, you should be allowed to keep the seat empty if you paid for it and tell other travelers to eat a bag of dicks. This whole system is bent.

Never, other passengers should be enraged. It could be them, but is not.. is not them so the dont fucking give a shit. Most people are fucking scared of "authorities" and do as told. Fuck these companies seriously who they think they are. After incidents like these, Delta, United and American should be filling for bankruptcy from the massive consumer boycott they should be receiving (plus a friendlier competition)

A flight attendant can claim you are unruly and get you kicked off and then blacklisted ... Too many people need to fly and can't risk sticking up for somebody else besides filming the interactions ...

Very true. People are sheep. Ever work with/be around sheep for more than 20 minutes? They are literally the most retarded animals in existence and always have been. There is a reason people are referred to as sheep in the bible for this exact reason. There are very few who will stand up and fight for others in legitimate equal standing. This is an excellent example. Not to toot my own clarinet (before the enterwebs I didn't have a clue it was the "symbol" of yuppie, libtards) but int the past have already attempted to fight for these righres of the people. Were they misguided thoughts? Probably, but you can bet your ass that I would double down on any shit like tgis being pulled while I am on. At the very least, first come, first serve. There are plenty of lawyers that would agree and do this shit for free as well knowing they will get an easy settlement.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!

I don't give a flying fuck what happened, that cunt muscle threatened to have their children taken away from them and thrown into foster care because they refused her authority to give up a seat they PAID for. I don't even give a fuck about the seat, who the fuck threatens to take people's children away from them for a seat on a fucking airplane. The Russian Gulag called the flight attendant later that night and said, "hey, take it easy lady"

Seriously, go fuck yourself airline shill, what they did was undefinable and the airline should be shut down and that bitch should be behind bars. This is America mother fucker, the cucks haven't won yet.

The problem is that most people are morons and think they HAVE to fly on their unnecessary vacation. Until people remember how to delay gratification, these shitty practices will never change.

I've been avoiding American airlines (all, not just THE one) every time if it's possible. Once you start flying internationally you'll never want to fly on any of those lines ever again.

I try but it's more expensive ... A flight to Japan jumps by $600 or so.

And again, we see CPS used as a threat against good parents.

We collectively know on some level that something is deeply wrong with CPS.

Article after article about CPS taking kids away from good parents while saying there's "nothing they can do" about kids being abused. CPS needs to be disbanded and its employees tossed in Gitmo.

CPS is scary as all fuck because it's it's own form of citizen control that can be out of control -- just wait until more SJWs start working there.

From all the Pizzagate stuff, it appears the CA CPS is just a totally corrupt collection agency for children who wind up in satanist/pedophile hands.

California Family Kicked Off Delta Flight, Threatened With Jail, Foster Care for Refusing to Give Up Tot's Seat - NBC News

'Brittany Schear said she was most upset that the employee had threatened them with jail, and the removal of their children. '

'Schear responds that their son had sat in a car seat, in his own seat on the plane, on their way to Maui. '

' David Dao, the subject of the now infamous video showing him being dragged from his seat and off a plan. '

'The incident came to light Thursday after the family posted video of the argument online. '

'"I bought that seat … you're saying you're going to give that away to someone else when I paid for that seat. '

This has been an automated message.

People....stop patronizing cattle-car carriers. You are nothing but a wallet on legs to them. I personally use business type flights (when I actually have to fly). No getting to airport 3 hours before ya flight only to find out you gotta pay 50$ for one of your bag. Then find outthe bag got delivered to the wrong city. Getting hassled by TSA gropers, flight attendants/gate personal. I goto the business airport about 30 minutes before I am supposed to leave, don't have to stand in line..the TSA guy comes out to the plane to do his bag inspections/interrogations/paperwork. Wheels up usually at or before the time it supposed to take off. Yes tickets are about 45% more expensive...yes the planes only hold like 16 people at the most and have to land 2 times to go from Boston to Jacksonville,FL. Rather deal with that shit than TSA groping my balls

If I had that option I'd take it. 45% more isn't easy for most people.

Yeah...i thought that too until I actually had to fly a few times after 9/11. I understand security...and I agree with racial profiling in airports/airlines.In the 1980s ISIS was The IRA. But at least The IRA had a religion most Europeans/Americans could understand. Islam in it TRUEST from (which just like you got Evangelical Baptists..Jehovah Witnesses..Scientologists{not a religion IMHO}...you got Devout Muslims)...and it's Quran/Koran...speel it the way ya want it...has many passages about the destruction/subjugation of all other religions. Imagine a Southern Baptist-I was raised one- with a book that tells them it ok to kill anyone that don't agree with their religion. They would have a freakin field day.

What are you flying that it is only 45% more expensive? And 45% more expensive than what class of ticket? Full fare Business class? I agree business flights are much better in various ways, especially in terms of time to get there and hassle with security. But my experience is that they are more expensive than you suggest. Perhaps it is a difference on where one is going to/from?

I am speaking of the smaller aircraft. Cessna Beechcraft..ect. If you pay for a first class ticket then add about 45-60% there ya low side of pricing (you get that after flying with the same company a few times) The planes only seat like 8-12 people and there are no meals..ect. But not having the hassle of TSA gropin my nuts...I'll pay it

lets not forget several years ago an aussie was also kicked off ... why when talking to a staff they happen to use a slag world "fairdinkem" the staff claimed it was a threat, and almost a terror threat , when all it means is no kidding.
