Even if the cop shot him on camera and this guy didn't put up a fight or have a weapon on him, I don't think anyone would fault the cop for a second. Hell I would have tortured him and then killed him myself. Fucking piece of garbage deserved an actual punishment.
It seems a lot of people here want for the man to have suffered the worst and most horrible fate....Hanging by the fingers, long and agonizing death, corporal displays of gratifying blood fountains for the bereaved or spectators to enjoy. I, myself don't feel we should hold to such an outcome. I believe, however satisfying in the near term, that such treatment or punishments actually serve to delete society's sense of justice and process. We shouldn't seek these kinds of things because everyone who watches and remembers such things would be burned in a way. Our process here in the USA (when it's not broken by crafty attorneys) spares the public all that, and (again, when it's not broken) assures all in time that justice is a steady and methodical force that always finds its end for the guilty.
BTW (I am strongly FOR the death penalty, where it's appropriate to the crime...in which case, for this one it seems highly appropriate).
