I hope the victim makes them hurt, however much money that takes.

Yeah, the jury is going to have a field day with this one, united better bite the bullet and offer a fat settlement.

Ya know, if he would've just stayed home, none of this would've happened. - Oscar Munoz

It's also plainly obvious that he has no capacity to view people as people.

In this case, one wonders how much profit the man places above safety. I won't be flying United specifically due to this fact.

attorney further said that Dao had conveyed to him that “being dragged down the aisle was more horrifying and harrowing than what he experienced in Vietnam” when he was on a boat after the 1975 fall of Saigon.

Dao “has no interest in ever seeing an airplane again” and will likely take a car home to Kentucky, the attorney said, adding that his client has “absolutely zippo” memory of the incident.

So... he has no memory of the incident, but he remembers the "harrowing" incident of being dragged down the aisle.

probably means that it happen. it was probably horrifying for him to watch on video

There's video. He was clearly knocked out or not all there at least.

Clearly hyperbole.

What about when he traded sex for pills to his male client when he was a doctor? That had to have been traumatic as well.

What does that even have to do with what happened to him though? From the articles I've read he's been working very hard to earn his license back as well. You work for United?

So you're still pissed that he made you bend over for the bottle?

That must be why you're bringing this up here and now, I can't think of how else that would be even slightly relevant.

Given the mans history and actual need to be on that flight this could easily go to trial and have an almost perfect case to get compensation based on the next several decades of his life being fucked up.

This whole situation proves yet again that the free market works.

The backlash against United and Chicago PD shows that the market will respond and correct itself. No government intervention needed.

Edit: Didn't realize there was so many commie faggots on voat now. Cheers!

What do you think a lawsuit is? Government intervention with government lawyers and the state-controlled justice system. United wouldn't give one flying fuck about bashing a customer's teeth in if it wasn't for the fact that they're about to get raped in court.

And we in turn wouldn't fly United. The young couple and the others asked to leave the plane didnt put up a fuss. Where did all of you hippies come from?

While this is true, this is only happening because the videos. How many things do you think go wrong or are illegal that don't get recorded or talked about that are just as bad if not worse, these things often never see the light of day. especially when the company can just quietly pay off the victims in a settlement that has a NDA/Gag Order attached.

There needs to be some sort of entity that protects the consumer from anti-consumerist policies, or else Monopolies, Price fixing, ect, will screw the consumer over.

More government is what led to this. Those cops have codified immunity, and will be protected by the union/state/Feds. They "might" get a slap on the wrist.

What we need is cops to carry individual liability insurance. Bad cop = high premium.

If that's the worst part of capitalism then I'm cool with that. Also who gets to define and regulate those things? The government? Hahaha

They already changed their policy and they will be hurt massively financially, more so than any lawsuit.

No, it just means an unfree market allowed this to happen for decades because there is no market competition to allow consumers to choose a dignified service. Public control and antitrust equates a free market.

You think Comcast doesn't treat you like trash? Your choice in a monopolized unfree market is submission or no internet.
