Yes, if I was told to get off a flight I had a ticket for because your company made the decision to sell more tickets than you could honor, I would become disruptive and belligerent, too.

they didn't overbook the flight. united wanted to board their own staff for an unrelated flight. that's not overbooking.

this makes matters worse in my opinion.

Why wouldn't the pilots have been able to fly a tiny plane to Lousiville-SDF?

It's actually pretty fun to watch just how badly this guy is fucking up. In the future business classes will use him as an example of exactly how to not handle a PR crisis.

He's probably so out of touch with reality that he can't fathom why this commoner scum didn't obey orders.

In the future business classes

You need to take a business class to learn common sense?

Business classes are already using it as an example.

I've turned down the opportunity to be bumped multiple times. If they let you on the plane you are not at fault. If they stop you from boarding, that's a different thing. #FuckUnited.

Contract law. Dude had a contract to be in his seat. Have fun in court United.

Yeah but that contract includes boilerplate language saying a ticket is not a guarantee and the unwashed masses go to the back of the line.

The fact that purchasing a plane ticket equates to buying a lottery ticket is the fucking problem. This recent incident from United just helps to bring home the fact for everyone that "beatings will continue until moral improves". This likely isn't an isolated incident. Likely it's just another Sunday night. And that raises the question why has this problem of abuse gotten so far out of hand.

Yeah thats why he deserves to take all the employees bonuses and yearly wage increases as a personal bonus for the year. Thats exactly what will happen once they feel the consumer lashback.

Airline exec has Golden Parachute, how fitting. I hope it was packed poorly and fails on the way down.

Unfortunately, due to regulatory capture, this won't hurt Unite too much.
