Whenever someone brings up American charity, always remember that charitable contributions are tax deductible.
Many wealthy people create their own foundations, give to them and use them to reduce their tax bill.
Or, as one wealthy actor put it, his accountant said "You can either give it to the government, or give it to charity and control where it goes."
This will heavily influence American charitable giving figures.
Stating the obvious. If you want to help someone, you just do it. You put in the time and effort and your own money. You don't get the government to force other people into it.
Right... Like the way conservatives claim to have compassion for infants and so they want to cut off abortion. And yet... they don't want to pay for anybody's health care or any sort of aid to them if they are poor. What kind of compassion is that?
You demand that people are born but then you really don't give a fuck about what happens to them.

'This ideology that the government action is a sign of compassion is upside down and contrary to the Christian notion of charity. '
'At its core, government welfare is predicated on a false compassion. '
'All the international statistics show Americans are the most charitable and the most likely to engage in volunteerism to help those in need. '
'In a famous incident, Congress wanted to appropriate $20,000 (a lot of money back then) to fire victims. '
'Whenever there is an international crisis — an earthquake, a flood, a war — Americans provide more assistance than those of any other nation. '

It's slavery disguised as charity.
Its goal is to create a mass lower class, completely dependent on the government elites.

Opinions are not news. Even if this guy has a pretty damn good opinion.
