Right because we were never given targeted ads before and no one ever sold our personal information.
Every time there's a change to one act or one Law people act like we literally had nothing before this as protections and taking away one measure will repeal every single thing we would ever do to protect our citizens in the piles of regulations we have.
Fact is technology moves faster than laws or congress so no matter what they have to update the rules, this is a part of that
